Play Along With Card Sketch 26

Good morning crafters.  The weekend is almost here.  Yippee!  Our weekend actually begins tonight.  My hubby's four day work week gives us a 3 day weekend all the time.  However the 10 hour work days (usually turn into 12 hours) are long and tiring.

 Today I am sharing another Glitter Queens card sketch.  These sketches are awesome and easy to adjust to make the card your own.  Dawn's card is here.

The new Share What You Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) used in this project is so pretty.  It was hard to chose which design to use for my card.  All the flower colors are pearlized.  It was hard to capture this element in a picture. I don't think it shows up well.

The Share What You Love suite of products was created with demonstrators in mind. It is full of awesome products.  It's available through the end of May in three awesome bundles which you will find here.  Each bundle includes free gifts.

Try Glitter Queens Card Sketch # 24

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I had a wonderful weekend and I hope you did too.  Friday night our youngest granddaughter Lily slept over (always a treat for Nonni and Poppy).  I made New Hope Mills animal shaped pancakes Saturday morning for her. This mix is  the same pancake mix my grandmother used when I was a child.  Best pancakes ever! It was always a huge competition among my siblings to see who could eat more of Grandma's pancakes. One of my brothers usually won.

Saturday evening had a great time with Heather and Jim.  So looking forward to our next get together.

Sunday's event was The King and I.  The play was awesome.  So many emotional scenes throughout, laughing one minute, crying the next.

I tweaked the measurements a bit.  See Recipe below. I used a retired stamp set but I am sure you can find a similar sentiment in your stash.

Winner, Donate Stash & Try Sketch #23

Good morning everybody!  The calendar says Spring is here however mother nature is still holding on to winter.  Nonetheless, I am in an organizing, spring cleaning state of mind.  I am trying really hard to get rid of the craft supplies I have hoarded over the years.

I found a great organization that will take my craft treasures. You can find them HERE .  My granddaughter's day care also takes donations, especially cardstock.  If you need to declutter, I am sure you can find several local organizations that will accept supplies that are in good shape.


Today's card design is from Dawn Griffith, Sketch # 23.  I had a little trouble with this design initially, but after playing for awhile I came up with a good solution for me.

Recipe :
Card base is 5½ x 8½ scored at 4¼.
Silver Foil 5½ x 4¼ (completely covers card front)
DSP Springtime Foils (Reverse side) cut (2) 5¼ x 4 (inside card back)
Silver Foil cut 3¾ x 5; embossed, Simple Striped
DSP cut 3 x 3¾ and then cut on the diagonal, use reverse side for one piece
DSP Springtime Foil cut at 2½ x 4 (use reverse side)
Basic Black cut at 2 5/8 by 4 1/8
Three black rhinestones

Glitter Queens' Blog Hop - Halloween

Welcome to Glitter Queens' Blog Hop!  So nice of you to stop by again.  Are you ready for some spooky inspiration?  Creep along with us to see all the amazing projects the Glitter Queens have waiting for you. Be sure to share our posts with all your friends.  It's a great way to get everyone in a ghostly mood!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  I always send  handmade Halloween cards to the kids and "kids at heart" in my family. 

The base card is cut from 12 x 12 Very Vanilla at 11½ x 5½, scored at 3 and 7¼. The pumpkin die from Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits was perfect for the tea light portal.   I love the ghosts floating skyward from behind the pumpkins.  

I think my second project turned out really cute!  I could not make the popcorn balls small enough fit a Stampin' UP! treat holder; so, I got creative and made a box using Simply Scored Tool,  Designer Series Paper, Layering Circle Framelits and ribbon.  

I love the peekaboo windows that make the popcorn ball visible to the recipient, yummy!  The popcorn ball is wrapped in plastic wrap which I pulled through the top of the box after cutting semi circles in each corner of closing flaps.  The protruding plastic wrap keeps the box closed nicely and I like the look!

Visit my blog for Saturday Spotlight this week where I will be sharing the recipe for these awesome popcorn balls.  Very quick and easy to make. My hubby said they were the best popcorn balls I have ever made.  LOL, I added more butter this time.

Glitter Queens First Friday's Hop - FALL

Happy First Friday hoppers!  So glad you're here today.  It's hard to believe summer is winding down. However, as the days get shorter, nights cooler and leaves brighter, I get anxious to drag out all things Fall, so today's theme fits me perfectly.

For today's project, this pretty color combination caught my eye on Pinterest and whispered, "it's Fall" in my ear.  Copper is such an awesome color and Stampin' UP! captures it so well in their foil sheets. Great inspiration for me!  

I added orange to my color combo as I see shades of orange cascading down the skirt. 

This Autumn Greetings card is made with Wood Textures DSP, Copper Foil Sheets, Tangerine Tango and Island Indigo cardstock.  "Maple Leaf" is from Seasonal Layers Thinlits die set and the sentiment is from the new holiday catalog Seasonal Lanterns stamp set.  I just love this new bundle.   


Lanterns are a design staple for me so this set will get lots of use in my craft room.  

I also love Stampin' UP!'s new pizza box.  It's the perfect size for so many single serving treats, especially my gluten-free apple crisp.  It really needs a big scoop of vanilla ice cream 😋on top, but it will not fit😞. 

To decorate, I spritzed two shades of ink and stamped the box.  Then I added a belly band, ribbon and label from the "Label Me Pretty" stamp set.  The pizza box is now ready for gifting.
