Hello fellow crafters. This week is my adorable grandson's 7th birthday. I don't see him as often as I would like, but my daughter sends pictures and videos that keep me connected to his everyday moments. Happy birthday Luke! Nonni and Poppy miss you very much.
Luke loves to play with Fidget spinners. When I found a version of this card on Pinterest I was so excited because I thought it would be perfect for his birthday. You can find my inspiration card HERE. However I kicked it up a notch with embossing the white mat and the creating a unique inside design.
Luke likes to golf with his Dad so I used the back side of the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder which resembles a golf ball.
Supplies used:
Number of Years stamp set
Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder
Large Number Framelits
Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock
Lemon Lime Twist cardstock
Dark Navy cardstock
Orange cardstock
Fidget spinner

One Design; Different Looks; All Occassions
Happy Tuesday everyone! Lazy days of summer will soon be behind us. Do you think this summer is going by more quickly than others? I sure do! It's mid August already and my first workshop is quickly moving to the top of my priority list.
The demonstrator magazine, Stampin' Success, was my inspiration for the cards I am sharing today. These were fun to make and I will be adding them to my workshop. The finished cards are 4" x 4".
The first card is minimalist with just a few rhinestones and sequin trim to add a little sparkle. The color combo is Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black and Whisper White. My go to summer colors! The sentiment (Flourishing Phrases 141534) was punched out (Pretty Label 143715) and I matted the sentiment with Basic Black to make it pop!
I added a matching envelope (Envelope Punch Board 133774) to compliment the card made from Fresh Florals DSP. Don't you just love the idea of creating a matching envelope. It adds a nice customized touch you rarely find with store bought cards.
The second card is very similar except I stamped a subtle background on the Powder Pink mat with a flower stamp (Paint Play 143995) and Powder Pink ink. I changed the sentiment (Butterfly Basics) and did not use rhinestones.
The third card is a little different and uses additional supplies. Instead of stamping a background I embossed a background with Layered Leaves (143704). I love how the leaves match so well with the Fresh Florals DSP. I used the new Starburst punch and a different sentiment (Special Celebrations 143885), inked the edges of the circle with Tranquil Tide and mounted the circle on matching ribbon and dimensionals.
How many different ways can you change this card to make it your own?
Have a great week and do something creative today!

Easy Card for Any Occassion

Today I want to share a card I made in June for my granddaughter's 8th grade graduation. Her name is Grace. The day of her graduation I left the card where she would easily find it when she arrived home from school. Grace opened the card as soon as she found it and turned to me and said, "Nonni when did you find the time to make this pretty card for me?" I replied, "I made the time because I love you." A priceless moment I will not forget.
Change the sentiment and you have an easy card for any special occasion.
The card base is the standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and is made with Berry Burst cardstock (144243). The background circle stamp is from Playful Backgrounds (141920) and was stamped with Berry Burst ink (144083).
The banner strip is 1 1/2" x 6" of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock (144245). I used the Banner Triple punch (138292) on each end.
The Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP 144125) is cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".
The sentiment is from a retired stamp set B.Y.O.B. stamped with Berry Burst ink. I cut two pieces of cardstock (Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist) with the Pretty Label Punch.
I used dimensionals and gold thread to finish off the card.
The pictures do not capture the shiny foil well. It's really pretty! It's one of my new favorites. The backside of the paper is a plain kraft color which I used on the inside of the card.
