A little bit of water, a little bit of ink and a lot of imagination was the theme of this fun workshop last night. The participants clearly enjoyed learning this technique. Michelle and Nikki (pictured left) used their creativity so the end result reflected their personality. Awesome job ladies!
Ink of the participant's choice was placed on a small sheet of plastic (recycled from craft supply packaging). Next, a couple spritzes of water was added (just enough to allow the ink to begin to move). Next came turning the plastic sheet over and quickly tapping the watered ink onto a piece of glossy paper a few times (try to somewhat center the ink to leave white space all around. Set aside to dry.
After drying, this step can be repeated with additional colors. Make sure to allow each color to dry before adding an additional color.
For the next step we used white opaque ink and a water-brush. Apply a drop of water and ink to a cellophane bag (recycled from craft supplies). Mix the water and ink with the brush and flick white ink drops on the inked glossy paper. Be careful as white ink spots may go to unexpected places in the vicinity, like your face!
Set aside to dry once more.
While the ink was drying we embossed colored cardstock to use as mats for our images. We die cut a few leaves and added a few rhinestones to complete the cards.
AWESOME CARDS!
These were my two favorites!
Which do you like best?
